About the Film Unit
The film unit is part of the Faculty of Economics and Business and is made up of academics and practitioners with expertise in video production, education and marketing. Our staff includes professional camera operators, editors, script writers and producers.
Our Films
Since 2004 we have produced award-winning films for education, for public & private sectors, across a range of disciplines from sociology, accounting, organisational behaviour, mathematics, public health & data management. We have also produced a number of promotional films for use within the University of Sydney and for external clients. Click here for examples of our work
Work produced by the Film Unit have been seen by thousands of students across Australasia and North America, and have been used to accompany text books as a DVD add-on for lecturers or as a download for students from university and publisher websites.
The studio

The Film Unit is located within the Burren Street Campus of the University of Sydney, and is equipped with an extensive range of professional video and digital editing equipment. All footage is shot on high quality Digital High Definition Cameras, and is edited on Final Cut Pro to produce broadcast-quality footage that can also be re-engineered for online delivery. As part of the Faculty of Economics and Business, all profits and royalties from video production, sales and distribution are channelled back to the Faculty for ongoing educational and research initiatives. |
